AVG Anti-Virus Update Confuses iTunes With Malware
9to5Mac is reporting that the latest virus signature updates to the popular AVG Anti-Virus (Windows-only) is misconstruing a couple of core iTunes files for malware. There’s a whole forum thread on Apple’s support website dedicated to this issue and while no fix or update from AVG has been released, the recommended workaround is to exclude the iTunes directory from being scanned within AVG at least until updated virus signatures are released. As you might have guessed, this is a Windows-only problem and does not affect Mac users.
